Cheonghon White is a 13% ABV makgeolli from J&J Brewery in Gyeonggi-do, brewed with Yongin Baekok rice and wheat nuruk sourced locally. The texture leads the experience — creamy, full-bodied, and softly sweet — while the fermentation stays gentle rather than funky, keeping the overall impression clean and approachable. At 375ml, the bottle is sized for a single meal, and the 13% ABV gives it more presence than standard-strength makgeolli without tipping into heaviness. It pairs naturally with crispy jeon, fried chicken, and pungent kimchi, where its plush mouthfeel smooths sharp and oily flavors. The Baekok rice, a premium Yongin cultivar, contributes a rounded grain sweetness that becomes the structural center of the drink.
