Description

Seonunsan Black Raspberryju Premium is a 19% ABV premium bokbunja wine from Heungjin Brewery in Jeollabuk-do's Gochang region, one of Korea's most famous bokbunja-producing areas. The 19% ABV places this firmly in fortified territory, and the Gochang black raspberry delivers the intensity to match. The nose is dark and concentrated: black raspberry preserve, dried plum, and a faint spirit heat. On the palate, the body is full and round, with a dense, syrup-adjacent texture that coats the mouth. The sweetness is substantial but the alcohol warmth provides a structural counterbalance, preventing the wine from reading as merely sweet. The midpalate shows a concentrated dark-fruit compote quality, and the finish is long, warm, and lingering with berry residue. This is designed for small-pour contemplation, not casual refreshment. Serve at 13-16°C in small glasses with aged hard cheeses where the intensity matches aged sharpness, alongside dark chocolate truffles where the berry depth and cocoa align, or as a standalone digestif after a substantial Korean meal.
