Omegi Clear Wine

오메기 맑은술

ABV16%
Volume500ml

Description

Omegi Malkeunsul (Omegi Clear Wine) is a 16% ABV cheongju from Jejugosorisulikneunjip Brewery in Jeju, fermented from foxtail millet (jobssal) and fresh-harvest rice with nuruk — a recipe that channels Jeju Island's distinctive grain-brewing identity. The millet is central: it contributes a nutty, faintly savory quality that rice alone does not produce, evoking the volcanic terroir of Jeju. The nose opens with toasted millet, clean rice, and a trace of mineral saltiness. On the palate, the body is medium-full and polished, with millet's earthy depth anchoring the midpalate while the fresh rice keeps the top notes bright and clean. The finish is dry, moderate in length, with a lingering grain warmth. Designated a 2018 Visiting Brewery. Serve at 12-14°C with galchi-gui (grilled hairtail) for a Jeju seafood pairing, or alongside jeonbok-juk (abalone porridge) where two Jeju essentials meet.
