Description
Maehwamareum is a 14% cooking wine (matsul) from Baehyejeong Doga in Jeongnam-myeon, Hwaseong, sold in 375ml bottles. It is meant for adding flavor and texture to food, not for drinking. The organic rice comes from paddies in the Maehwamareum colony on Ganghwa Island, a Ramsar-listed wetland, and the name comes from the endangered water plant that the Korea National Trust protects there. It is sweetened with organic brown sugar from the Philippines and contains wheat.
