Chuseonggoeul Brewery in Jeollanam-do creates this 15% specialty by layering kudzu root, goji berry, pine needle, and citrus peel over a rice-and-nuruk foundation — a botanical arsenal that reads like a Korean herbal cabinet translated into a glass. The nose is captivating: pine needle dominance, backed by a warm citrus peel note and the earthy sweetness of goji. On the palate, the body is medium-full with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the kudzu root. The herbal elements weave through the grain base without becoming medicinal; instead, they create a slow reveal of layers — pine, then dried fruit, then a bitter-herb tail that keeps you returning for another sip. Recognized as a Food Master product and 2014 Visiting Brewery selection. Serve at 14-16°C with samhap (fermented skate, kimchi, and boiled pork) where the drink's piney complexity stands up to the triple intensity, or alongside sanchae-jeongsik (mountain vegetable course) where the botanical notes find their natural habitat.
