부안참뽕와인
Buanchamppong Wine is a 13% ABV fruit wine from Jeollabuk-do, made with domestically grown mulberry (odi) as its core fruit, supplemented by purified water, spirit, and fructose. Mulberry is one of Korea's traditional foraged fruits with deep roots in folk medicine and rural food culture, and this wine channels that heritage into a modern bottle. The nose is immediately distinctive — deep purple-berry jam, dried fig, and a warm, slightly resinous sweetness that sets it apart from grape-based wines. On the palate, the body is medium with a plush, coating texture. The mulberry delivers a concentrated, jammy sweetness with a dark-fruit intensity that feels bold yet approachable. At 13% ABV, there is enough warmth to support the fruit's weight without burning edges. A subtle tannic bite from the mulberry skins provides structure, preventing the sweetness from becoming formless. The finish is moderately long, with lingering dark-berry concentration and a clean close. The 750ml bottle is well-suited for extended meals. Serve at 10-14°C with rich cheeses where the concentrated fruit cuts through fat, with chocolate-based desserts where the dark-berry character amplifies cocoa depth, or alongside roasted-nut appetizers.
