Description

Jindo Hongju Manhong is a 40% ABV distilled soju from Jeollanam-do whose striking red-violet color comes from jicho (Lithospermum erythrorhizon), a root traditionally used in both Korean medicine and natural dye. The jicho infusion adds an earthy, slightly bitter botanical quality beneath the color, giving the spirit a dimension that goes well beyond visual novelty. Crafted by Daedaero Brewery on Jindo Island, it has been served at major state events including the 2004 Blue House National Security Council dinner and the 2005 Korea-US friendship banquet. It was also selected as a 2015 'Visiting Brewery' (Chajaganeun Yangjojang), and received an encouragement award at the 2013 Korea Traditional Liquor Awards.
