Description
Bujajin Omija Jin is a 44% ABV botanical spirit from Gyeongsangbuk-do, taking a distinctly gin-inspired approach with Korean ingredients. The botanical bill reads like a Korean mountain herbalist's collection: pine needle, mugwort, hovenia (heotkae), hallabong (Jeju citrus), and omija - each contributing a recognizable layer to the spirit's complex aromatic architecture. Unlike Western gins that lean on juniper, this spirit builds its identity around Korea's native botanicals. The nose is immediately striking - piney freshness, bright citrus peel, earthy mugwort, and the sweet-tart sparkle of omija. On the palate, the body is medium with a clean, focused texture. The botanical layers unfold in sequence: pine needle's resinous cool, then mugwort's earthy warmth, then omija's signature five-taste complexity, with hallabong citrus threading brightness throughout. At 44%, the spirit has enough structure to carry the botanicals without drowning them. The finish is long, herbal, and refreshingly aromatic. Bottled at 375ml.
