Description
Yangjo Hakdang Tteul (Brewing School Garden) is a 12% ABV makgeolli from Brewing Hakdang in Gyeonggi-do, distinguished by the addition of pine needles and mugwort to a base of both regular and glutinous rice. Baekguk (white koji) and yeast handle the fermentation, producing a dense, creamy body where herbal-green notes from the botanicals carry through the mid-palate with unexpected persistence. At 12%, the alcohol provides structural warmth that supports the herbal infusion rather than overwhelming it. The result is a contemplative, farmhouse-style takju that rewards slow sipping and attention to its evolving aromatics across each glass.
