High Tide Takju is an 8% ABV whole wheat makgeolli from Gyeongsangbuk-do, brewed with whole wheat rice (tongmilssal), guk starter, and yeast. Using wheat rice rather than standard rice gives this takju a distinctively hearty, rustic personality — deeper grain character with more chew and body than typical rice makgeolli. The texture is creamy and enveloping, with a sweet warmth rooted in the wheat rather than added sugars. At 480ml and moderate proof, it is a comforting bottle that pairs especially well with savory jeon and fried dishes.
