Description
Persimmonjasul (Potato Liquor) is a 13% ABV traditional drink from Gangwon-do, brewed with rice, potato, nuruk, and yeast. The name can be misleading - 'gamja' means potato in Korean, not persimmon - and the inclusion of potato alongside rice gives this drink a rustic, earthy sweetness that distinguishes it from pure rice fermentations. The texture is notably round and mellow, with a softly grainy finish that recalls the starchy warmth of root vegetables. At 300ml and 13%, it is portioned for intimate, considered drinking.
