Makkaeju is an 11% ABV makgeolli from Gyeonggi-do, brewed with domestic glutinous rice, nuruk, wheat, and purified water in a generous 1,000ml format. The chapssal-and-wheat combination produces a creamy, full-bodied texture with wheat nuruk lending mild breadlike warmth. At 11%, it carries more weight than standard makgeolli, making it a robust table companion that holds up against fried foods, spicy stews, and hearty banchan spreads where volume and richness are both welcome.
