Bangpung Makgeolli is a 10% ABV herbal makgeolli from Jeollanam-do, brewed by Geumodo Island Village Brewery with domestic rice and 7.7% Korean bangpung (Saposhnikovia divaricata), a medicinal herb used in traditional Korean wellness. The bangpung infusion introduces a savory, slightly bitter herbal dimension that cuts through the typical creamy sweetness of makgeolli, creating a more layered and aromatic drinking experience. At 500ml and 10%, it carries more weight than standard 6% makgeolli while remaining approachable. Geumodo is a small island off the southern coast of Jeollanam-do, and this brewery channels the island's coastal terroir into a product with genuine botanical character.
