Description
Baekun Black Raspberryju is a 13% ABV fruit wine from Jeollanam-do that blends domestically grown bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) with Korean rice. Bokbunja - Rubus coreanus, distinct from Western blackberry or raspberry - produces smaller, more intensely pigmented berries with a higher anthocyanin content, resulting in a deep ruby-purple wine with considerable tannin structure for a fruit wine. The rice component acts as a fermentation base and textural softener, providing a gentle grain sweetness that cushions the bokbunja's natural tartness and astringency. The product's competitive track record is exceptional: a 2012 Excellence Award, a 2013 Top Prize in Korea, and a 2014 SIWC (Seoul International Wine Competition) Silver Medal, demonstrating consistent quality across three consecutive years and both domestic and international judging panels.
