Description

Wolgwangju 42 is a 42% ABV high-proof traditional spirit from Gwangju, produced by Wol Gwangjujo Brewery using only rice, water, and nuruk. Despite its makgeolli classification, the 42% alcohol content places it firmly in sipping spirit territory, where the familiar creamy rice character is compressed into a concentrated, warming expression. The three-ingredient simplicity is the point: with no added sugar, flavoring, or enzymes, the spirit's personality comes entirely from the quality of the rice fermentation and distillation. This is a bold, unadorned showcase of what Korean rice spirit can achieve at high proof.
