Description
Myeonggawon San Wild Grapeju is a 16% ABV fruit wine from Gyeongsangnam-do, built around nearly 50% domestic wild mountain grapes (meoru). These Korean wild grapes produce a darker, more intensely tannic berry character than cultivated table grape varieties, giving the wine a depth closer to a rustic European red than a typical Korean fruit wine. At 16%, the alcohol provides substantial body and warmth, while the blend of citric and succinic acids maintains enough acidity to keep the ripe sweetness from becoming heavy. Added spirit (45%) rounds the structure and extends the finish. This is one of the few Korean fruit wines that can genuinely stand alongside red wine at a meal.
