Description

Munbaesul Heritage 25 is the gentler sibling of the 40% expression, dialing down the proof to 25% ABV while preserving the hallmark pear-from-grain phenomenon that defines the Munbaesul name. The same millet, glutinous sorghum, and rice recipe generates its signature fruity esters, but at lower strength the spirit becomes rounder and more immediately approachable. The nose retains clear pear character — perhaps slightly softer and more diffused than the 40%, like pear blossom rather than ripe fruit — with a clean grain undertone and gentle nuruk sweetness. On the palate, the body is light-medium with a smooth, easy-drinking texture. The pear impression is present but gentler, weaving through a soft grain sweetness that the lower proof allows to emerge. The millet and sorghum contribute a quiet nuttiness rather than the structural austerity of the higher-proof version. The mid-palate is open and flexible, with enough character for attentive sipping but enough softness for casual drinking. The finish is short-to-moderate, clean, with pear fragrance fading gracefully into mild grain warmth. At 375ml, this is positioned for regular dining. Serve slightly chilled or at room temperature as an everyday companion to Korean home cooking, banchan spreads, or light grilled dishes.
