Description
Cheongju Sinseonju Takju is a 10% ABV makgeolli from Sinseon Brewery in Chungcheongbuk-do, anchored by locally grown Cheongwon Saengmyeong rice from the Cheongju region and bolstered by glutinous rice. What sets it apart is a remarkably broad herbal blend: chrysanthemum, angelica root, goji berry, ginseng, cinnamon, rehmannia (both processed and raw), along with oemurup and hasuo. These botanicals reshape a standard creamy takju body into something closer to a traditional medicinal infusion, with layered spice, floral lift, and earthy warmth co-existing in each sip. The 500ml bottle invites contemplation rather than quick consumption, and the complexity makes it a conversation starter at any Korean table.
