Yeonwolju is a 20% ABV cheongju from Gangwon-do, built on Yeoju rice with nuruk, then fortified with rice distilled soju. The gwahaju-style fortification — adding distilled spirit to fermented rice wine — gives this bottle both the aromatic grace of a fermented cheongju and the structural backbone of a spirit-enhanced wine. The result is remarkably clean for its proof, with a refined grain character and a smooth finish that does not overheat the palate. At 750ml, it elevates full-course hanjeongsik, grilled fish, and steamed dishes.
