Nerdy Rose is a 5.5% ABV makgeolli from Gyeongsangbuk-do, brewed by Sangju Brewery using glutinous rice and cherry with yeast and refined enzymes. The cherry infusion gives the liquid a rosy hue and a tart-sweet fruit layer that sits atop the creamy chapssal base, creating a dual personality — part fruit drink, part traditional grain brew. The fermentation enzyme keeps the texture polished rather than rustic, and the low ABV makes it a genuine session pour. At 700ml, it is built for sharing over a table of crispy jeon or fried chicken, where the fruit lift and creamy body alternate between cutting grease and coating the palate with softness.
