Hwabaek Soju

Description

Hwabaek is a 25% ABV distilled soju from Gyeongsangbuk-do, built on a domestic grain trio of non-glutinous rice (mepssal), glutinous rice (chapssal), and wheat-based nuruk. This three-grain approach creates a spirit with more dimensionality than single-grain distillates: the mepssal provides a clean, dry backbone, the chapssal adds textural softness, and the nuruk contributes savory fermentation depth. Despite its moderate-to-high proof, the spirit moves smoothly across the palate with a sense of density rather than harshness. Each sip reveals grain-driven character that rewards attention without demanding it.
