Hanju Maehwa is a 35% ABV soju from Gyeonggi-do, distilled by Hanju Brewing using 41.936% domestic rice and wheat-based nuruk. The rice content at nearly 42% of the total composition gives this spirit a substantial grain foundation, while the wheat nuruk adds fermentation depth and subtle complexity. Despite the high proof, the distillation is calibrated for smoothness rather than raw intensity, producing a spirit that opens with clean, understated aromatics and transitions into a dry, elegant finish.
