Description

Haebangju is an 18.8% ABV herbal spirit from Gyeongsangbuk-do, made from young domestic haebangpung (sea-parsley or peucedanum japonicum) leaves. This coastal herb, common along Korea's shorelines, brings a distinctive green, slightly medicinal character that defines the spirit from first pour. The unconventional ABV of 18.8% suggests a careful calibration to preserve the herb's delicate aromatics without overwhelming them with alcohol heat. The nose is immediately herbal and green - fresh-cut coastal herbs, a mineral sea-breeze quality, and a subtle celery-like vegetal sweetness. On the palate, the body is light-medium with a clean, refreshing texture.
