두루미 양조장
Durumi Brewery in Cheorwon, Gangwon, creates crane-inspired spirits celebrating the Hantan River region.
한탄강 익스프레스
Hantangang Express is a 12% ABV makgeolli from Gangwon-do, brewed by Durumi Brewery using non-glutinous rice (mepssal), koji, yeast, and enzyme preparations. Named after the Hantan River that cuts through Gangwon's volcanic basalt plateau, this makgeolli pushes well beyond session-strength territory into substantial, meal-anchoring weight. Non-glutinous rice gives the body a structured creaminess rather than the fluffy softness of glutinous rice styles, while the elevated alcohol adds warmth and length to each sip. The result is a makgeolli that stands up to intensely flavored Korean dishes rather than simply refreshing alongside them.

농담
Nongdam is a 16% ABV traditional drink from Gangwon-do, produced by Durumi Brewery using Cheorwon Odae rice (a premium non-glutinous variety from the DMZ border region), rice and wheat koji, domestic chrysanthemum, and yeast. The chrysanthemum addition is the distinguishing element: it threads a delicate floral note through the grain-rich body without overpowering the rice foundation. At 16%, this is a weighty, contemplative pour rather than a casual session drink, with the Cheorwon Odae rice providing a firm, structured backbone that carries the chrysanthemum aromatics through a long finish.
