두레앙22
Dureang22 is a 22% ABV grape-based spirit from Chungcheongnam-do that takes an uncommon path among Korean distillates by building entirely on grapes. The result is a spirit with a gentle fruit identity that sits distinctly apart from the rice-and-grain mainstream. The nose opens with soft, ripe grape sweetness — not wine-like exactly, but a clean, fermented fruit brightness that evokes fresh Muscat or Kyoho grape skin. A subtle floral note accompanies. On the palate, the body is light with a smooth, easy-drinking texture that the low proof encourages. The grape character translates as a clean, refreshing fruit sweetness at entry, neither heavy nor syrupy, followed by a mild tartness that appears in the mid-palate and keeps the spirit lively. There is a subtle yeasty warmth from fermentation that adds a hint of bread-like depth. The finish is short and clean, with grape sweetness tapering off into a dry, refreshing close. The spirit's competition history — 2009 silver, 2011 grand prize, 2015 Monde Selection recognition — demonstrates consistent quality. At 375ml, serve chilled alongside jeon where the grape acidity complements savory pancakes, or with hoe where the fruit brightness mirrors a squeeze of citrus.

두레앙목통숙성주
Dureang Moktong Sukseongju is a 35% ABV oak-cask-aged spirit from Chungcheongnam-do whose single listed ingredient — moktong sukseongju won-aek (oak-barrel-aged spirit base) — indicates a production method centered on wood maturation rather than botanical infusion. Oak aging in Korean spirits is relatively uncommon compared to nuruk-fermented or herb-infused traditions, placing this product in a small but growing category of aged Korean distillates that draw on techniques more commonly associated with Western whisky or brandy production. The cask contact contributes vanillin, tannin, and gentle oxidative complexity without overwhelming the underlying grain or fruit distillate character. At 35%, the spirit carries substantial warmth but maintains a polished texture, suggesting controlled aging conditions that favor slow extraction over aggressive char or toast levels.

아우내
Aunae is a 20% ABV soju from Chungcheongnam-do, produced by Dure Brewing (두레양조). Instead of a typical grain-heavy foundation, Aunae draws its base from distilled grape wine blended with neutral spirit. This gives the spirit a clean, smooth character with a light vinous nuance that distinguishes it from conventional rice or sweet potato soju. The 360ml bottle finishes dry, making it well suited for pairing with galbi, bossam, and sashimi where palate-clearing clarity is valued over sweetness.
