불로생우리쌀막걸리
Brewery in Daegu's Jung district, producing fresh longevity rice makgeolli.
This Daegu-brewed 6% makgeolli strips away distractions and lets domestic rice fermentation speak on its own terms. The texture is plush and velvety, the sweetness soft and grain-forward, and the finish just dry enough to avoid monotony. What makes it stand apart from similar profiles is a subtle nuttiness — toasted sesame meets rice porridge — that emerges in the mid-palate and gives each sip more dimension than you'd expect from such a straightforward recipe. The 2011 Korea Traditional Liquor Awards top Excellence prize in the fresh makgeolli category marks it as a benchmark. Pour at 5-7°C with dakgalbi where the spicy-sweet sauce meets the mellow body, or with mandu-guk (dumpling soup) for comfort-on-comfort pairing.
