Persimmonaksan Wild Grape Wine is a 12% ABV fruit wine from San Wild Grape Farm Brewery in Gyeonggi-do, crafted with 78.5% sanmeoru (Korean wild mountain grape) concentrate sourced from Paju near Gamaksan Mountain. The exceptionally high proportion of wild grape extract — nearly four-fifths of the bottle — makes this one of the most fruit-concentrated wild grape wines available. The nose is bold and rustic: deep purple-berry, dried blackberry, forest floor earthiness, and a slightly tart, almost vinegar-like sharpness that signals the sanmeoru's wild character. On the palate, the body is medium with a firm, structured mouthfeel that carries real tannic grip — unusual for fruit wines but typical of quality sanmeoru wines. The fruit flavor is vivid and unapologetically intense, with dark-berry concentration that stains the palate. Sweetness is present but checked by the wild grape's natural acidity and astringency, creating a balanced tension that makes this a food-worthy wine rather than a sipping dessert. The finish is moderately long with berry warmth and a drying, mineral-tinged tail. The Gamaksan area in Paju is known for its wild grape cultivation on mountain slopes. Serve at 12-15°C with aged cheese boards where the tannins meet fat, alongside grilled meats where the dark fruit stands up to char and smoke, or with dark chocolate where the wild berry earthiness amplifies cocoa complexity.

무주구천동산머루주
Mujugucheondongsan Wild Grape Ju is a 16% ABV fruit wine built on meoru (Korean wild grape), a fruit native to the mountainous interior of the peninsula. At 16%, this sits at the higher end of Korean fruit wines, closer to a fortified or dessert-wine territory. The wild grapes used here grow in semi-wild conditions at elevation, producing smaller berries with concentrated skin-to-juice ratio — which translates into deeper color, more tannic grip, and a forest-berry intensity that cultivated grapes rarely match. The nose opens with blackberry bramble, dried wild herbs, and a dark, earthy sweetness that evokes the mountain forests where meoru thrives. On the palate, the body is medium-full with a thick, layered texture. The sweetness is generous but anchored by firm, slightly astringent tannins from the wild grape skins, creating a tension that makes this wine more serious than casual sipping. The finish is long and warming, with lingering berry-skin bitterness and an earthy tail. The 750ml format suits deliberate, food-paired drinking. Serve slightly cool at 14-16°C with aged hard cheeses where the tannin meets fat, alongside grilled meats like duck or pork belly, or with walnut-based desserts where the wild character finds kinship.

Wild Grapedeuseo Sweet is a 12% ABV fruit wine from Gyeonggi-do, made with 75.6% Korean wild grapes blended with spirit and refined sugar. The high proportion of wild grape delivers a vivid berry aroma that feels authentically fruity rather than artificially sweetened. Juicy acidity balances the sugar, keeping the finish lively and clean. It pairs well with fruit-forward cheese plates, light appetizers, and delicate desserts where its natural brightness can shine.
