Haenam Jinyangju

해남진양주

Haenam Jinyangju is a 16% ABV brew from Haenamjinyangju Brewery in Jeollanam-do, made with Haenam-grown domestic glutinous rice and designated as Jeollanam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 25. Haenam, at Korea's southwestern tip, produces rice with a distinctive mineral character from the coastal climate, and that terroir shows in the glass. The nose carries warm, nutty glutinous rice with a faint sea-salt whisper. On the palate, the body is medium-full and gentle — not thin, not heavy — with a composed grain sweetness and a finish that tapers with a clean, slightly mineral dryness. The 375ml format focuses the experience. Serve at 12-14°C with jeon-platter where the balanced body handles fried textures gracefully, or alongside banchan where each small dish benefits from the drink's unassuming support.
