Boseong Ganghaju

보성 강하주

Boseong Ganghaju is a 15% ABV brew from Boseongganghaju Brewery in Jeollanam-do, made with 100% Korean glutinous rice and designated as Jeollanam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 45. The glutinous rice purity gives it a characteristically round, full mouthfeel — the body is medium-full and pillowy, coating the palate with a gentle grain sweetness that feels wholesome rather than sugary. The nose carries steamed glutinous rice with a hint of fermented dairy. On the palate, the 15% strength provides warmth without dominance, and the finish is moderate and clean, with a faint rice-flour dryness. The 350ml compact bottle is practical for pairing with a single course. Serve at 11-13°C with bossam where the blanched pork's gentle fattiness and the rounded body find mutual comfort, or alongside jeon where the pillowy texture cushions the crispy surface.
