Makgeurt is a 6% ABV makgeolli from Gyeonggi-do that adds yogurt aroma to a dual rice base of non-glutinous and glutinous rice with guk starter, yeast, fructooligosaccharides, and lactic acid. The familiar yogurt fragrance gives it an immediately approachable, almost nostalgic character, while the rice base maintains traditional makgeolli creaminess underneath. Fructooligosaccharides and lactic acid work together to produce a sweet-tart balance that keeps the yogurt note clean rather than cloying. At 450ml, it pairs naturally with spicy fried chicken and jeon.
