Gorijin is a 47% ABV botanical spirit from Gyeonggi-do that reads like a Korean interpretation of gin, layered with ten distinct botanicals: juniper berry, yuzu, bokbunja (black raspberry), omija (five-flavor berry), goji berry, ginseng, burdock, ginger, licorice, and sancho pepper. The complexity is immediate on the nose, moving from bright citrus and berry top notes into deeper earthy and herbal registers. Despite its high proof, the spirit maintains remarkable aromatic clarity, with each botanical contributing a discernible layer rather than blending into noise. This is a contemplative pour designed for slow sipping alongside grilled fish or formal hanjeongsik courses.
