Donggang Deodeokju is a 20% ABV herbal fruit wine from Gangwon-do produced by Yeongwol Deodeok Brewery, built around deodeok (Codonopsis lanceolata) root and layered with jujube-goji berry, licorice (gamcho), and wonji (Polygala tenuifolia) root. The deodeok leads with a savory, slightly bitter mountain-herb profile, while the jujube-goji adds a reddish sweetness and the licorice smooths the herbal edges. Wonji — traditionally used in Korean medicine for its calming properties — contributes a quiet, woody undertone.
