Korean CheongjuTears of Nokgo
녹고의 눈물
Tears of Nokgo is a 16% ABV cheongju-style spirit from Jeju Island, produced by Tohyang Brewery using seom-ogapi (island acanthopanax, Acanthopanax koreanum), a medicinal shrub endemic to Jeju's volcanic terrain. The seom-ogapi infusion adds an herbal-woody dimension to the cheongju's clean, transparent base, creating a spirit that carries Jeju's distinct terroir in every sip. At 16%, the body remains light and composed, making it a food-friendly pour that brings botanical interest without alcoholic intensity. The name 'Tears of Nokgo' references Nokgo Peak, a secondary cone within Jeju's Hallasan volcanic landscape.
