Wheatdam 40 (Mildam 40) is a 40% ABV distilled spirit from Gyeongsangbuk-do, made entirely from domestic sweet sorghum (dansusu) rather than the more common rice or barley base. This unusual grain source gives it a distinctive aromatic profile — cleaner and more aromatic than typical grain soju, with a subtle natural sweetness derived from the sorghum itself. Despite its considerable proof, the texture stays surprisingly smooth, with focused grain notes and a precise, composed finish. The spirit earned the grand prize in the traditional distilled spirits category at the 2021 Korea Liquor Awards, confirming its quality against a competitive national field. At 360ml in a 375ml-class bottle, it is sized for deliberate, small-pour sipping.
